Devotional from Nicole Sitter
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Mark 1:35 NIV
Pastor Drew is going to preach on this text this week, with the emphasis on if we are going to love people one at a time we must be connected to God. We can’t give out if we are empty.
This has me thinking about our role as worship leaders. We especially need to be in the Word and connected to God if we want to produce authentic worship for our God. The more we know, the more we love and understand these words and notes that we are bringing to our King.
In light of our current situation this can be difficult. Let me encourage you to stay in the Word so we don’t miss what God is doing here. God is still good and worthy of our praise. Our healing is going to come in doing what He created us to do. Worship.
We are singing Broken Vessels and I love how perfectly this song was chosen for this day.
All these pieces
Broken and scattered
In mercy gathered
Mended and whole
Empty-handed
But not forsaken
I’ve been set free
Friends, we are still free. We don’t deserve it but we are free. Let’s sit in that truth and bring all the Glory to the one who set us free.
