Greetings, once again, from the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico. This time of year is the most challenging time to fly in the mountains around here, due to the wind conditions. Many days, I have a small window to do flights early in the morning, just after sunrise, and in the evening, just before sunset. Some days, I am “stuck” at a remote airstrip for a number of hours, waiting for the winds to die down. Please continue to pray for safety in flight, and on the ground. Your prayers are vital.
Medical, Dental and CHE team outreach:
God continues to keep the door open for meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the indigenous people groups of Mexico. We are grateful. Thank you for praying for the Gospel to change lives in Mexico! This Easter season, a remote village was able to view the Jesus film. Many had the opportunity to hear what Jesus did for them on the cross. Please pray for many to come to a saving knowledge and deep understanding of what Jesus accomplished in His death, burial and resurrection.
Cataract Eye Surgery Clinic:
Lord willing, next week, another eye clinic will be held at Hospital Misión Tarahumara. Two areas will be targeted, and patients and guardians will be flown to and from the hospital from those two areas. Please pray for calm winds, safety, and successful surgeries. The surgical team will be flown from Chihuahua to the mission hospital. I look forward to serving the Tarahumara and Tepehuan people groups, this next week.
Number Nine Grandchild:
God has given us another granddaughter, and we are very grateful for her precious life. Lorelai Opal Ferrell was born April 19th to our daughter, Amber, and our son in law, Logan. Amber is doing great, and Lorelai is growing and developing well. We thank the Lord for many answered prayers, and for blessing Logan and Amber with a daughter to love and nurture in His ways. We pray Lorelai will come to know Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age, and that she will have a desire to serve Him all the days of her life.
Aircraft Incident:
Last week, I was taking off at a remote airstrip, in the Carbon Cub. On my takeoff roll, a gust of wind blew me off the side of the airstrip. The main wheels hit a barb wire fence, and damage was done to the left horizontal stabilizer and elevator. God was very gracious and enabled me to continue to fly the aircraft, and I was able to safely fly the plane back to home base. I had two passengers on board, and I thank the Lord for sparing our lives. The Carbon Cub will need to be repaired. Please pray that parts will be available, and that the repair can be done, quickly, so the airplane can be put back in service. Missionaries, pastors, sick villagers, and the mobile medical clinics depend on the Carbon Cub airplane for transportation. The 206 cannot land at many of the short, mountainous airstrips.
Thank-you, once again, for lifting us up in prayer, and for giving financially, so we can be a part of the team of believers who are sharing God’s love with the precious people of Mexico. God is faithful. We look forward to the sound of the trumpet and His return. Keep looking up!
Serving Him with you,
Brent, Hollie Mae and Brielle Dodd
