Hope: God Promises

Romans 8:24-25; Luke 2:38

Hope is not only hard to find these days, but it’s also hard to define. A biblical definition of hope might be: Hope is longing for what God has already promised (Romans 8:24-25). The prophet Anna, in Luke 2:38 speaks of the “redemption of Jerusalem” that all were waiting for. She sees this hope in Jesus! People were hoping, longing, and waiting on the promise of God. This promise, fulfilled in the birth of Jesus, provided present provisions (the hope of a changed life) as well as future fruit (the hope of heaven).

Our first year as an Operation Christmas Child Drop Off Center was a great success! Our team of 45 volunteers collected and packed 3,895 shoeboxes from our area in just 8 days! Each day we prayed with the donors, and for the community and the children who will soon receive all these boxes. Our church also exceeded our goal by donating 563 shoeboxes! We are getting ready to start planning for next year. Be on the lookout for more information on how you can join our planning team in January.

Crossroads Angel Tree 2025:  A reminder that all Angel Tree gifts are due today, December 7! Because of your incredible generosity, 106 local children and teens (ages 0–17) will receive both the essentials they need and the special gifts they wished for.

Food Drive 2025:  Because of your kindness, we were able to care for 30 local families, restock three neighborhood food pantries, and collect more than $2,600 in gift cards and monetary donations, along with numerous bags and boxes of groceries and several turkeys. Your faithful giving continues to be a tangible expression of God’s love in our community, and we are deeply grateful for the way you bless others through your compassion and generosity.
