What’s Happening @ Crossroads May 11

Aboutccc   -

Join us on  Sunday, May 11

9:00 & 10:30 am

Meals Needed: Our Crossroads family also extends hospitality by preparing, ordering, and delivering meals.  It really helps to have a meal delivered when families adjust to a new routine with a newborn, when they are grieving the loss of a family member, or during a long illness or hospital stay. Sometimes a meal and a visit is just what someone needs.  If you want to join this team, please email the church office at [email protected].  We need people to make meals and deliver meals, as well as people who are willing to order and send meals via DoorDash.  Thank you so much for caring for our family in such a tangible and generous way.

Join us after the second service on Sunday, June 1st, for a church-wide summer potluck!

We have a lot to celebrate, including our high school graduates, the students graduating our LEAP class and moving up from JAM into Brickhouse, as well as being DEBT FREE as a church!

So we want to take this time to enjoy some food & fellowship and thank the Lord for all He has done for us. We will also be casting some of the vision for the “What If’s” of where God might be leading us as a mortgage-free church.

Register Here!

Elder/Deacon Nominations:  We will be taking nominations for both elders and deacons through May 25. Please designate clearly as elder or deacon. The character qualifications are laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. We identify elders as “servant leaders” with an emphasis on shepherding or caring for the congregation, as well as encouraging, instructing, and leading the church according to the Word of God. We identify deacons as “leading servants” with an emphasis on leading various serving ministries such as benevolence, facilities, finances, and other administrative areas. If you have any questions, you can email Drew and send your nominations to [email protected].

VBS:  Mark your calendars now for July 21sth through the 24th and prepare for Living Water– VBS 2025!  Watch the bulletin and weekly Connections email for information on how to volunteer and register.

The 2nd Mile Crew (for boys K-5th Grade): is excited to host our 2nd kickoff event on Friday, May 16th, from 6 to 8 PM at 12915 Parrish Ave, Cedar Lake. It will be a night full of fun and fishing in the great outdoors. A cookout will be provided, along with fishing equipment for anyone who needs it. Fathers and grandfathers are welcome to join in the fun as we learn more about going the 2nd mile in Christ, and what Jesus has taught us through fishing. Please register if you can, so we can plan accordingly. Hope to see you there!

 Mother’s Day Billboards

Illiana Right to Life Committee will again this year be running pro-
life ads on digital billboards along heavily traveled US highways in Lake County IN, and Cook
Country IL for one week (May 5 – May 11). Copies of the ads will be circulated on Illiana Right to
Life social media sites. Our Pro-Life declaration and names of supporters will not appear on the
billboard ads but will be posted on our social media and Illiana Right to Life Facebook page. This
is the first of two billboard campaigns we run throughout the year. All funds received will be
placed into our general fund. Any funds received above our needs for our two annual billboard
campaigns will be used to subsidize the annual trip to the March for Life in Washington, DC and
the many pro-life organizations that we support. Please contact your Illiana Right to Life
representative, Jean VanderGriend, if you would like your name included.
