“The Talk: Grace. Truth. Sex.” — May 15 and 22, 2022
As followers of Christ, we’re becoming more like Him in every area of our lives, and that includes our sexuality. God designed sex to be a beautiful act of self-giving love. Sex paints a picture of Christ’s relationship with the church, but sin has marred that picture and left us sexually broken. God’s desire is to renew and restore our brokenness, and a hurting world needs to know about His grace and His truth.

PG-rated sermons ahead!  PARENTS, on Sunday May 15 and 22, Pastor Bryan will be preaching on biblical sexuality. Children’s ministry is available for preschool (downstairs) and elementary (upstairs). 5th and 6th graders will also be welcome to join JAM upstairs during these two Sundays.

Discover the Bible:  It’s not too late to join us tonight.  Crossroads will be offering a 4 week study.  It’s been written for those with no experience in Bible study but also for those who want to go deeper.  Join us in the atrium on the Thursday nights of May from 6:30-8:00 pm.  Bring a Bible, notebook and an expectant heart to learn more about the value of studying God’s Word. Childcare will be available.

Elder & Deacon Nominations:  We will be taking nominations for both elders and deacons from May 15-May29.  Please designate clearly as elder or deacon.  The character qualifications are laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.  We identify elders as “servant leaders” with an emphasis on shepherding or care for the congregation, as well as encouraging, instructing, and leading the church according to the Word of God.  We identify deacons as “leading servants” with an emphasis on leading various serving ministries such as benevolence, facilities, finances, and other administrative areas.  If you have any questions, you can email Drew as well as send your nominations to [email protected]

KidsHope Homan Elementary School Prayer Partners:  The last day of school is May 23, which means that it’s a great time to send one last note to your prayer partner.

Hey kids and parents! This summer we’re excited to announce that we will be introducing JAM’s first ever “Missing Character Mystery” series. Oh no! JAM’s beloved El MNOP has gone missing! He was last seen messing around with the drums on stage. Three days later, Miss Hannah found a note in her mailbox that read “PARABLE.” Miss Hannah met with Miss Eden to discuss the cryptic message and decided that they need more help. Join us beginning Thursday, June 16, as we take a look at one parable of Jesus per week in hopes that they help lead us to the secret location of Crossroad’s favorite superhero. We will begin Thursday, June 16, and continue to meet every Thursday until August 11. We will meet from 5-7 upstairs in Brickhouse. We will have crafts, games, snacks, worship, and so much more! Bring your Bibles and a friend and join one of our top investigative teams. El MNOP is counting on you!

JAM Summer Volunteer Opportunity:  This summer JAM will be holding our first ever “Missing Character Mystery” series! We are super excited to see how God will work through this program. If you are interested in helping out in any way such as; preparing crafts, making snacks, helping with worship, leading a team, etc contact Hannah Ramirez at [email protected] for more information! We will begin on June 16 and go through the summer meeting every Thursday night until August 11. Thank you!
